Annual move-in weekend highlights the beginning of another year at 惇蹋勛圖厙

惇蹋勛圖厙 welcomed back students to campus with a series of events beginning August 24 and culminating with the all new All Thats Green is Gold party to celebrate the start of a new school year.

Kicking off Thursday under cloudy skies and a threat of rain, students began filing back to campus with their belongings, signaling the unofficial beginning of the school year with the trek to move back into the dorms.

Following some wicked weather Thursday evening, students received special help from Magnus and President Bloomberg during move-in, picking up where they left off the day before as the campus began to fill up with anticipation and energy once again.

Saturday brought on the new student convocation, as more than 500 students and their families filed into the Wolstein Center for an exceptional formal welcome party led by President Bloomberg and Provost Sridhar, the Presidents Cabinet, and the universitys academic deans. Following the ceremony, President Bloomberg shook the hands of each student as they walked across the stage, replicating the experience of what finishing ones degree path would resemble at Commencement.

That evening, the scene shifted to Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse for Summer Jam, where students were treated to various musical acts, featuring Moneybagg Yo, DaBaby, Nardo Wick, Toosii, and many more.

As students continued shoring up loose ends on Sunday in anticipation of classes the next day, the All Thats Green Is Gold party later in the evening capped an incredible return to campus with a Hollywood-style flare. With students lining up in anticipation 20 minutes before the event, it came complete with the pomp and circumstance you would find at the Grammys, where the glitz and glamour accompanied a club-style party at the 惇蹋勛圖厙 Rec Center.

An attendance of 816 students (456 of which who couldnt wait and RSVPd beforehand) took advantage of the social gathering of the summer, complete with a green carpet where approximately 600+ photos were snapped, many of the selfie variety. If that wasnt enough to get the juices flowing, more than 3,000+ pieces of green swag were handed out to students who participated in several games, including 65 who tried their hand at the Boxing Challenge.

And who doesnt love free money? Close to 40 students took a chance in the money machine contest, where the winners basked in the glory following their big scores.

If that wasnt enough, it was pinkys up as students elegantly sipped mocktails on the roof with an unparalleled view of the city, ultimately taking in the opportunity to soak in outstanding views of the downtown skyline one last time before classes kicked off the next day.

Welcome to a new school year, 惇蹋勛圖厙!
