Scott Vine Named New Director of Michael Schwartz Library
±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø is pleased to announce that Scott Vine has been named the new director, Michael Schwartz Library. Vine has a strong, grounded background in academic librarianship and a thoughtful, empathetic leadership approach.
Driven by his personal academic experiences, he has an energetic desire to support college students, a deep understanding of library operations, strategic planning, setting priorities and valuable experience working collaboratively with university administration and advancement.
Prior to ±¬ÁϳԹÏÍø, Vine held positions at Carnegie Mellon, Johns Hopkins and most recently at Franklin & Marshall where he was the director of the college library. He holds master's degrees in philosophy and library/information science as well as completed the Association of College Research Libraries (ACRL)/Harvard Leadership Institute training.
Additionally, he has served on the editorial board of directors of the portal: Libraries and the Academy, and the board of directors of Partnership for Academic Library Collaboration and Innovation (PALCI), a five-state consortium of 70+ academic and research libraries.
